Anyway, about the new Skoda Octavia. The car has been given a mid cycle refresh and is going to come in three variants under two different names. The first variant "base model" comes as the Skoda Rapid and it features the 1.6 litre engine from the 2011 model mated to a five speed manual transmission. Other features on the base model include front and rear anti-lock disc brakes, air-conditioning, mp3 radio with CD player, fabric/soft touch plastic interior, front rear and side airbags, 15" steel wheels, power windows and central locking .
The second variant internally known as the Skoda Octavia SE features everything in the base Rapid including an upgraded engine, a turbocharged 1.8litre TSI engine good for 118kW, a seven speed automatic transmission, 16" alloy wheels with full size spare tire, an upgraded audio system with four speakers, iPod, USB and auxiliary connectivity and a dual zone climatronic air conditioning.
The third variant which is the full options adds everything from the Octavia SE plus a more powerful turbocharged engine good for 125kW, a seven speed automatic transmission, 16" alloy wheels with full size spare tire, an upgraded audio system with a touchscreen interface, four speakers, iPod, USB, Bluetooth and auxiliary connectivity, tire pressure monitors, electronic parking brakes, and a dual zone climatronic air conditioning.
Official prices for the 2014 Octavia are not yet known but we are estimating an N3.9Mill starting price for the Rapid, a N4.2Mill price for the Octavia SE and a N4.6Mill price for the full options.
